Barcelona player Yaya Toure rules out a move to Premier League

Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has ruled out a move to the Premier League – even though he claims Manchester City and Arsenal want to sign him.

Toure, younger brother of City captain Kolo, said: “I have heard about interest from Manchester City and Arsenal but my future is at Barcelona.

“I have spoken to the directors at the club, I don’t want to leave and my only mission and is to stay and be a success at the club.”

25-year-old Chamak is a free agent to the summer

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has admitted he would prefer to join Arsenal rather than Liverpool this summer.

Chamakh, 25, will be a free agent when his deal expires at the end of June and both Premier League giants have made him offers to him to sign a pre-contract.

Liverpool are hoping to tempt him with £50,000-a-week plus a huge signing-on fee, but Arsenal have always remained confident of getting him.

Arsene Wenger went back for Chamakh in January, but Bordeaux did not want to sell, and the Gunners have also made him a lucrative offer for next season.

Chamakh said: “My future? Well, I hold all the cards, I have no reason to be under pressure but every day passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player.

“My choice is to join a Premier League club and, if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal.

“Bordeaux has brought me so much. I will soon clearly state things so the club can prepare to find my replacement peacefully.’

Egypt ace Mohamed Zidan is being chased by Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona — according to his dad.

The Borussia Dortmund hitman created numerous goals and bagged one himself as his country won their third straight African Nations Cup.

Now his father Abdullah says three big clubs have been in touch about a possible move in the summer.

He told Egyptian TV station Dream TV: “Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona have talked to Mohamed’s agent.”

Zidan Snr also revealed that his son has a clause in his contract which enables him to complete a move to any of these clubs at the end of the season.

Barcelona now want to lure Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Eboue from Arsenal.

The Champions League holders want a keeper, right-back and star midfielder in the summer and are ready to test the Gunners with a £40million bid for former Nou Camp starlet Fabregas, 22.

But Eboue is also on the Barca radar and he is a free agent at the end of the season.

Barca sporting director Txiki Beguiristain has checked out the Ivory Coast full-back, 26, and is impressed by the fact he is also highly effective in the centre of defence.

An insider said: “Our coach Pep Guardiola is also very keen and we are working at the situation.”

The Champions League kings plan a £40million raid for the Arsenal and Spain midfielder – and Laporta is determined to capture the ex-Barca youth team star.

He declared: “Cesc Fabregas is desired by us for many reasons. Barcelona have decided to fight for the kid for next season.

“The money? This will be decided at the end of March to prepare the way for a deal.

“Cesc is such a big player. Our intention is to convince the Londoners about the sale. It won’t be easy but we have good relations with the Gunners.”

Barca aim to tempt Arsenal with a straight £40m cash bid by raising money from sponsors.

If that fails, an alternative plan is to offer unsettled Ivory Coast midfield star Yaya Toure, brother of former Gunners defender Kolo, plus £30m.

Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre could leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season

Arsene Wenger admits he fears he could lose Mikael Silvestre on a Bosman-style free transfer at the end of the season.

Arsenal boss Wenger has drafted in 32-year-old centre half Silvestre to start at left back at Burnley for the injury-hit Gunners tonight.

But Silvestre, signed on a two-year contract from Manchester United, will have talks about his future in March with Wenger fearing he will quit after failing to get a regular game at the Emirates.

Wenger, who is also planning contract discussions with captain William Gallas who is also free next summer, said: “I have a meeting with Silvestre in March. We have a common agreement to meet in March and see where we go from there.

French Club Bordeaux insist that Marouane Chamakh will not leave in the January transfer window

French club Bordeaux insist striker won’t leave them until the end of the season.

The Moroccan forward, whose contract expires in June,  has been coveted by several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

But Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc said that Chamakh “will play for Bordeaux from January 1 to June 30.”

Chamakh, 25, scored 13 goals in the French league last season and looked set for a move to Arsenal before negotiations broke down.
