David Bentley will plead with Tottenham to let him leave during the January transfer window.
Tottenham midfielder Bentley, 25, was not even on the bench on Saturday after a training ground bust-up with Harry Redknapp.
Redknapp has tried to play down the row after a behind-closed-doors game with non-league Grays, but still did not pick him among the 18 against Wolves.
It has left Bentley desperate to get away after suffering a nightmare since his £17million move to Spurs 18 months ago.
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes, Bentley’s manager at former club Blackburn, is still an admirer and tried to sign him during the summer window.
