According to reports, Juventus are ready to offer Brazilian striker Amauri to Palermo in exchange for 20 year old highly rated defender Simon Kjaer.

Juventus are planning to not only reconstruct their ailing attack, but also have to start thinking to the future of their defense. Veteran defenders Fabio Cannavaro, Fabio Grosso, and Nicola Legrottaglie are not getting any younger, and the Juve brass want to start sooner rather than later.

The Bianconeri will have to act quickly as several clubs are interested in the hot prospect, including Man City, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Juventus has already spoken with the Danish center-back’s agent, and believe that Amauri could function as an enticing bargaining chip.

The 29 year old center forward has struggled to settle in at Juve after two successful terms with the Sicilians, and Juve seems keen to offload him, even at a loss. According to reports, the Rosanero still admire their former star.

Since Juve are planning to overhaul their attack, Amauri is sure to be on his way out to make room for other targets, specifically Sampdoria’s Giampaolo Pazzini and Villarreal’s Giuseppe Rossi.

Juventus are prepared to approach Sporting Lisbon’s 23 year old midfielder Miguel Veloso, as they have sent several scouts to watch the player, according to reports in Italy and Portugal.

The Bianconeri want to solve their midfield woes after the continual poor performances by Brazilian Felipe Melo, who is likely to leave the club in the summer. Juventus feel the young Portuguese player is a suitable replacement.

Juventus have had difficulty with Portuguese players in the past, as Jorge Andrade has barely featured due to numerous injuries and a lack of form, while Tiago Mendes has been loaned out to Atletico Madrid after two years of disappointing performances.

Veloso has a 30 million Euro minimum release clause, however he was close to joining both Inter and Porto for almost half that price in January.

From recent interest from Arsenal in Felipe Melo, where Arsene Wenger holds the Brazilian in high regard, it is likely that Juventus will have the funds for this deal.

Juventus are thought to be willing to swap midfield playmaker Diego for Bayern’s Franck Ribery, according to reports from El Mundo Deportivo.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with Ribery, as many believe Real Madrid sent Arjen Robben to Bayern with the intent of taking Ribery in exchange during the next available transfer window.

However, Juventus have jumped into the bidding and could well entice Bayern into the deal by exchanging Diego, who has yet to settle into Italian football. Juventus seem unwilling to give him time, and seem keen on replacing him this summer.

Juventus have long been admirers of the 26 year old French international, dating back to when Claudio Ranieri was at the helm. The Tinkerman apparently would have preferred Ribery over the Brazilian.

Bayern are already preparing for life after Ribery, after he has repeatedly made clear that he wants to leave the German outfit. Bayern’s interest in Diego is apparent, and it would appear that he the ideal replacement when Ribery inevitably leaves.

Giuseppe Rossi’s future at Villarreal is serious doubt, and the Italian international is reported to be looking for a return back to the penninusla, according to his agent Frederico Pastorello.

After a difficult season in La Liga, Villarreal are unlikely to find themselves in European competition next term, which will force many players out of the club, including Rossi.

According to the agent, Rossi’s future lies with two Italian clubs: Napoli and Juventus, both of whom showed great interest in the starlet in the January transfer window.

The American born Italian forward has repeatedly told press of his desire to return home, and now this seems inevitable. His desire to impress Italian Coach Marcello Lippi is also a factor, as he feels he cannot garnish enough attention while playing in Spain.

Juventus are the more likely candidate, but will have to offload several players to make the deal work, although Pastorello claims Rossi would love to join Napoli.

Rossi did not play in the friendly against Cameroon due to the recent death of his father.

Although their position in the league table is tenuous, they intend to avoid relegation this season, led my a convincing win this Sunday against fellow Southerners Bari.

Lo Monaco stated that if the Etnei avoid relegation this year, they will invest a record 10 million Euros into the transfer market, a rather significant increase from the 2 million Euro budget at the beginning of this term. The increase is due to a surprise increase in profits, mainly due to TV rights.

Catania were fairly busy in the January transfer window, signing Argentinian playmaker Maxi Lopez and coming close to signing Mariano Pavano, however negotiations fell through near the end of the window.

Catania are in 15th place in Serie A.
