Taddei may be the next casualty of the "sell our best players" transfer policy of the Giallorossi
Roma’s 29 year old midfielder Rodrigo Taddei is being closely monitored by Fiorentina, according to Italian reports.
Taddei has yet to sign a contract extension, which expires this June, and Fiorentina are hoping one will not be signed.
The Viola are planning to make a bid for the player this summer in hopes of strengthening their midfield after a disappointing season in Serie A. However, a deal may be difficult to make considering Taddei has expressed a desire to stay with the Capital club after several years of dedicated services.
Fiorentina are hoping that Roma’s financial problems will work to their advantage and allow a deal to be struck. According to Italian reports, the Viola are prepared to offer a straight swap for Mario Santana as well as paying the difference in the players’ value which may well tempt the Giallorossi into making the deal.
This comes as no surprise to the Giallorossi faithful, as in the past, their star players have often been sold in order to support the club’s poor financial standing.
