Racing Santader's Sergio Canales is wanted by Manchester United, but Real Madrid has also shown their interest.
Manchester United are still interested in Racing Santander’s Sergio Canales, 18, who has yet to sign for Real Madrid.
Canales is out of contract in the summer but is said to have verbally agreed to re-sign for Racing before being sold on for a lucrative fee.
His club want up to £10million, but are expected to accept less if the player is loaned back to them.
Manchester City made a concerted effort last month to tempt the Spain Under 19 international to Eastlands, with rounds of talks in England with his father Gelo before meetings in Santander.
